Apply for Financial Aid
Welcome to City Seminary’s Scholarship site, where you will learn how to apply for financial assistance.
Our goal is very simple:
“Every student called to the gospel ministry should be able to graduate from seminary free from tuition debt.”
For 26 years we have, by God’s grace, been able to meet that goal. Here is how the process works.
1. Complete an Application for Admission (if not already a current student). This is the first step, where we get to know one another. If you have difficulty with anything in the Application, either the Registrar or a student liaison will be happy to assist.
2. Complete the Registration and Financial Aid form. As with the Admission application, we are primarily interested in you.
3. Expect a call or email from the Registrar that your Application and Scholarship request has been received.
4. Expect a call or email from the Dean of Students to discuss your Application.
5. Next, you will hear from the Registrar about the status of your Application for Admission, and Request for Scholarship, along with a link to register for classes.
We do not require students to provide personal financial information. If accepted as a student, we will base your scholarship award based upon your estimate of need. The standard we ask that you use is simple. We provide scholarships sufficient to cover tuition that would otherwise require you to incur debt. Our goal is to provide a tuition debt-free program for you.
In many cases, a student might seek a scholarship for, perhaps, half their tuition. Others may request up to 100%. Discuss this with the Dean of Students when he calls. The % of tuition covered by scholarship will remain in force unless and until we request an updated financial aid request from you.
As you can see, this is a simplified system that depends upon your honesty, and our continued ability to fund scholarships. For 26 years, City Seminary has, by God’s grace, been enabled to meet 100% of scholarships requested through this process.
