Application for Entrance to Degree Program
All U.S. students seeking  to enroll in a degree program at City Seminary must complete this application form. Upon acceptance into City Seminary, the prospective student must also complete a registration form for the classes they wish to attend.

Admission to City Seminary requires the following:

• Completed Degree
• Letter of recommendation from your pastor or elder
• Statement of reasons for pursuing theological study
• Official transcript of undergraduate (or graduate) education
• U.S. residency

Note: Financial assistance is available for all qualified U.S. students. If you indicate an interest in receiving tuition scholarship assistance, a Financial Aid Officer will contact you.

City Seminary embraces the essential doctrines of the historic Protestant Christian faith as confessed in the Heidelberg Catechism (1562 A.D). Students may hold to a different doctrinal standard, provided they confess the following, without reservation:

• The authority, infallibility and inerrancy of Scripture

• The Trinity

• The full deity and humanity of Christ

• The fallen nature of man

• The substitutionary atonement and bodily resurrection of Christ

• Salvation by faith alone in Christ alone

• The future, physical return of Jesus Christ

Acceptance

Our commitment to you assures you of the following benefits: 

  • A full range of courses offered in a prescribed sequence. The cost per course includes all materials for the course except textbooks and reading materials, for which you are responsible. Textbook information will be provided online approximately 3 weeks before each class begins.
  • Instruction and administrative services available every trimester you are actively enrolled until graduation on or before 150% of the program’s intended length at which point you may be required to reinstate your Agreement. Master of Divinity students must complete their program in 8 years.
  • You are entitled to receive a degree in this program once you have completed the following:
      • The minimum number of units required
      •  All of the required courses in the degree program and a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA
      • Any and all financial obligations to the Seminary.

Your commitment to us assures the Seminary of the following: 

  • Prompt payment for courses: Payment for courses is due before the trimester start date. Until all financial obligations are paid in full for a trimester, you will not be allowed to enroll in successive trimesters.
    • Adherence to the Seminary’s code of conduct and administrative policies as explained in the Academic Catalog and Student Handbook.
    • Appropriate student conduct as outlined in the Seminary’s Academic Integrity and Plagiarism policy and its Code of Conduct.
