About Us
City Seminary of Sacramento is a school of theology at the graduate level which is committed to provide a classical theological education to students in the Sacramento region. We provide a place where men are trained for the gospel ministry without them having to relocate to another area. Seminary education should be accessible to those who are called by Jesus Christ to minister to his church.
The seminary offers programs leading to the degrees of Associate of Theological Studies, Master of Theological Studies (2-year); Bachelor of Divinity and Master of Divinity (4-year).
Individual courses are also available for auditing and general study.
Due to our low 3-1 faculty-student ratio, student success is enhanced. In fact, among degree candidate students for the years 2023 and 2024 enjoyed:

From 2022 thru 2024, 80% of our graduates entered full-time ministry.
Organization, Authorization, and Accreditation
Organization
City Seminary of Sacramento was formed in 2000. It is incorporated in the State of California as a religious nonprofit corporation whose purpose is providing religious educational programs for the training of church pastors and leaders. City Seminary of Sacramento has been granted 501(c)3 non- profit status by the Internal Revenue Service.
Authorization
City Seminary of Sacramento is authorized as a religious postsecondary degree granting institution in the State of California. The Seminary is approved to offer its online programs in other states through religious and online exemptions. Contact the Seminary to see if our programs are available in your state.
Accreditation
City Seminary of Sacramento is fully accredited by the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries (ARTS). ARTS is a national accrediting agency recognized by CHEA to accredit Reformed theological schools.
Warning about “Diploma Mills”
Diploma mills are defined by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education as follows:
“A diploma or degree mill is any educational organization or service that sells credentials with the promise that it will take little time or coursework.” Students should be aware of such institutions and check with the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to ensure that the institution where they are seeking a degree is not one of these “mills.” In 2009, CHEA and UNESCO issued a joint statement defining these institutions, and warning against
